What is a fast charger?

A fast charger is designed to charge your electric scooter faster than a conventional charger. It works by increasing the power transmitted to the battery, measured in watts (W), thanks to a higher voltage and current.

What are the advantages of fast charging?

A fast charger is a great way to optimize your time and avoid battery failures, while reducing the need to stay plugged in for long periods of time.

  • Time saving: The main advantage is of course the charging speed. For example, a fast charger can recharge 50% of the battery in 15 to 30 minutes, compared to several hours with a conventional charger.
  • Ideal for emergency situations: A quick charge allows you to have enough autonomy in a short time. No more waiting long hours before leaving with a (partially) recharged electric scooter

What are the disadvantages of a fast charge?

  • Overheating: An unsuitable charger can damage the battery. It is therefore important to choose a fast charger adapted to your brand and model of Minimotors electric scooter.
  • Premature wear of the battery: Charging too quickly and frequently can affect its longevity. It is therefore advisable to alternate between fast and normal charges in order to preserve the battery life.
  • Compatibility: Always check that your device supports fast charging before using a powerful charger.

Example of charging speed:

Let's take the example of the Teverun Fighter Eleven electric scooter. The battery capacity is 60 V at 26 Ah, or 1560 Wh. With the charger supplied by default, the charging time is 17 hours. However, there is a Minimotors fast charger at 67.2 V for 5 Ah. In this case, the charging time is approximately 5 hours, or 3 times less. The time saving is therefore appreciable and allows you to use your electric scooter more often, while unleashing its full potential!
